About Us

Who are we?

Body Mechanix Physical Therapy is a professional physical therapy corporation dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of a variety of physical dysfunctions of the muscle, skeletal and nervous systems. We are the oldest independent physical therapist owned physical therapy office serving Simi Valley and surrounding areas since 1999. We are the only physical therapy office in Simi Valley with Doctors of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Orthopedic Clinical Specialists (OCS) which is a specialty designation issued by the American Physical Therapy Association which only approximately 5% of physical therapists achieve.

What do we do?

As implied in our name, we see ourselves as human body mechanics. First, we carefully listen to your particular complaints of pain, weakness, movement limitations, balance and/or functional difficulties. We then complete a thorough physical examination to determine the cause of your complaints. Using this information, along with information from your referring physician, we come up with an assessment of your specific problem and design a plan to get you back to your best functional ability for activities at home, work and recreation. We then apply our particular specialized skills in manual therapy and exercise prescription, as well as education about your particular problem, to assist you in achieving your goals.

You have a choice in where you have treatment!

You have the right as a patient responsible for your care, to choose where you would like to receive your care.

What makes Body Mechanix Physical Therapy different from the rest?
Body Mechanix Physical Therapy is committed to excellence. I realize that others will say the same but once you have experienced the difference you will understand what separates us from the rest.

EVALUATIONS: Our evaluations are extremely thorough assessing not only your particular involved body part, but also associated areas that may influence your full recovery. This is performed by a licensed physical therapist who will be your physical therapist and will follow you through your entire time with us.

EDUCATION: Comprehensive education is given to assist in the understanding of your problem as well as assist in the needed patient participation for ongoing health and well-being.

HANDS-ON TREATMENT: The manual treatment that you receive will be performed with excellence by the same therapist each visit unless your schedule does not allow.

EXERCISE: Exercise prescription, as well as any other aspects of treatment including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat and cold packs, etc., is observed and directed by your physical therapist each visit. Your care is never handed over to an aide but only assisted by them for better care.

STATE-OF-THE-ART EQUIPMENT: Gym quality strengthening equipment, balance equipment, plyometric equipment, Hydrotrack underwater treadmill for decreasing the effects of weight bearing, BIODEX isokinetic equipment for extremity testing and exercise, MEDX lumbar extension machine for testing and exercise of the lumbar spine musculature.

How does it work?

The rehabilitation of your particular problem is a team effort. We are the coach, educator and trainer and you are the player. None of this happens without a collaborative effort between you, the patient, and your therapist to achieve your maximum goals. You will be educated in the particular mechanics of your injury to assist you in the achievement of these goals. To assist you in achieving these goals, we have highly trained physical therapists as well as a fully equipped office with standard physical therapy equipment such as exercise balls, ankle/wrist weights, dumbbells, balance pads, trampoline, resistance bands/tubing, slide board, etc., for extremity and core stability training. In addition, we have gym quality strength equipment, plyometric, dynamic and proprioceptive equipment, state-of-the-art BIODEX isokinetic equipment for extremity strengthening, MEDX lumbar strength testing and exercise and HYDROTRACK underwater treadmill for patients with weight bearing limitations. Then toward the end of your rehabilitation we can offer further recommendations for continuing your new found fitness/health level by assisting you in an independent gym program at the gym of your choice or at our office if you choose.
